Israeli Missiles Successfully Destroy 5 Tanks Despite Failure to Explode
The Qassam Brigades have announced that two two-ton missiles launched by Israeli forces into civilian houses in the Gaza Strip failed to detonate. The statement from the Qassam Brigades claimed that the missiles were intended to target Israeli vehicles in the Cibaliya region, resulting in the destruction of 5 Israeli tanks and casualties among the personnel.
According to Palestinian security sources, the Israeli army has launched thousands of missiles into the Gaza Strip since October 7, with some of them failing to explode. Palestinian resistance forces often repurpose the explosive materials found in these missiles for their own use.
The escalation of violence on October 7 was initiated by Hamas’s armed wing, Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, in response to what they view as continuous violations against Palestinians and sacred values, particularly the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The conflict has resulted in devastating casualties, with thousands of Palestinians killed and injured, and significant destruction of civilian infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.
During a brief humanitarian ceasefire in late November, 81 Israeli and 240 Palestinian prisoners were mutually released. However, Israel continued to detain and imprison thousands of Palestinians, perpetuating the cycle of conflict.
The clashes have also extended beyond Gaza, leading to 304 Palestinian fatalities in attacks by Israeli forces and illegal Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem. The conflict further spilled over into border clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah, resulting in additional casualties on both sides.
As a result of the violence, 1.9 million Palestinians in Gaza have been displaced and are struggling to survive without access to shelter, food, clean water, medicine, and health services.
The toll of the ongoing conflict is undeniably tragic, and the pursuit of a lasting and peaceful resolution remains an urgent priority for the international community.
