Israeli President Herzog Calls for Humanitarian Intervention

Israeli President Isaac Herzog has made it clear that he is open to the idea of entering a new ceasefire in Gaza in order to secure the release of hostages held by Hamas and to ensure that more aid is provided to the Palestinian region.
In a statement, Herzog stated, “Israel is ready for another humanitarian stop and additional humanitarian assistance to ensure the release of the hostages. Responsibility lies entirely with (Hamas leader Yahya) Sinwar and (other) Hamas leaders.”
In response to Herzog’s statement, Hamas posted a message saying, “We refuse to exchange hostages under Israeli attacks. However, we are open to any initiative to stop the attacks. There will be no negotiations unless the Zionist aggression is stopped definitively.”
The situation in Gaza continues to be tense, with both sides expressing their willingness to consider a ceasefire, but also laying down conditions for its implementation. It remains to be seen how the situation will develop in the coming days and whether a new ceasefire agreement will be reached.
