Israeli Press Reports Civilian Casualties in Shootout with Hamas Members

According to a report from Haaretz newspaper, senior Israeli security officials have made an assessment of the recent attack by Hamas from Gaza on October 7. The assessment suggests that Hamas had no prior knowledge of the music festival that was taking place near the Gaza Strip. It was revealed that Hamas learned about the festival through the use of drones and parachute elements during the attack, and then directed their members to the location using a communication system.
Fortunately, most of the festival attendees were able to escape as the party had been stopped half an hour before the attack began. However, the police investigation also uncovered that an Israeli war helicopter had opened fire on both Hamas members and civilians, resulting in the deaths of 364 people at the festival.
Additionally, Israeli Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper also published a report about the intervention of Israeli Air Force helicopters during the attack. The report stated that Hamas terrorists had attempted to blend in with the crowd in order to evade detection by the air force. This tactic initially worked, but the Israeli Apache helicopters eventually had to use artillery shells against the terrorists, as they were unable to distinguish between the terrorists and innocent civilians.
These reports highlight the complexity and tragic outcomes of the recent attack, as well as the challenges faced by Israeli security forces in responding to such incidents. It is clear that further investigation and evaluation of the events are necessary in order to fully understand the circumstances and prevent similar tragedies in the future.
