Israel’s Continued Genocide in Rafah, as Shown by Hamas

Hamas Condemns Israeli Actions in Rafah
A recent statement from Hamas has condemned the actions of the Israeli army in the city of Rafah, calling it a “Zionist crime” and a continuation of the genocidal war against the Palestinian people led by the Netanyahu government.
The statement confirmed reports of Israel’s preparations for an attack on Rafah and the evacuation warning issued to residents in the eastern region of the city. Hamas called on the international community to intervene and prevent the potential attack, which puts the lives of hundreds of thousands of civilians at risk.
Hamas also stated that any military operation in Rafah would not be easy for the Israeli army and declared readiness to defend the people, disrupt the enemy’s plans, and achieve victory. Humanitarian aid organizations in the region were urged not to leave the city and to continue providing assistance to those in need.
The Israeli army had requested the evacuation of neighborhoods in the eastern part of Rafah, where around 100 thousand displaced Palestinians had taken shelter. Concerns of a potential land attack prompted the forced migration of residents from the area.
The targeted region in Rafah includes the Rafah Border Gate on the Egyptian border, which serves as a crucial entry point for humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip and allows Palestinians, including the wounded, to leave Gaza. Despite warnings of a humanitarian disaster, Israel persists in its efforts to occupy Rafah, citing it as the “last stronghold of Hamas.”
Following intense air strikes and land occupation in other parts of Gaza, Palestinians have been forced to migrate southward. The situation in Rafah remains tense as both Hamas and the Israeli army prepare for potential conflict in the region.
