Istanbul Police Department Releases Statement on Gaziosmanpaşa Incident
A.D. fatally shot in Gaziosmanpaşa Yeni Mahalle
A.D. tragically lost his life after being seriously injured in an incident that took place in Gaziosmanpaşa Yeni Mahalle at around 9:00 on September 21. According to a statement by the police, A.D. was sitting in the park with MFT (18) and AO (15) when two individuals wearing helmets arrived on foot and shot A.D. before fleeing the scene.
Following the incident, a police operation was launched to apprehend the suspects, identified as KCÖ (18) and FCU (18), as well as other individuals connected to the crime, including Ö.CU (20), RK (23), and M.T (18). The authorities managed to detain the suspects and seized 2 unlicensed pistols and 1 motorcycle in connection with the case.
It was revealed that the suspects had a previous altercation with the victim, leading investigators to believe that the motive behind the shooting was revenge. The investigation is currently ongoing, with the crime being classified as “deliberate murder.”
