‘Kaan’ Drone to Soar the Skies Soon: Haluk Bayraktar’s Comments at TEKNOFEST
TEKNOFEST 2021 Breaks Its Own Records
TEKNOFEST, Turkey’s largest aerospace and technology festival, has successfully broken its own records with over 1 million visitors every day. Held between September 21 and 26, this year’s event saw a multitude of successful showcases and projects, encouraging innovation in the youth.
Baykar CEO Haluk Bayraktar gave his remarks to CNN Türk at the conclusion of TEKNOFEST. He expressed his gratitude towards the support from the country and praised the enthusiastic participation of the people. He remarked that the main purpose of TEKNOFEST was to encourage young people to undertake technological projects and emphasized this through the applause generated by the viewers.
Bayraktar also announced that prizes would be awarded to the teams placing second and third in the technology competitions, with good news coming from Ankara as well. The unmanned aerial vehicle, MMU, was named “Kaan,” increasing excitement for its eventual takeoff.
Not only was the festival a soaring success in attendance, but it also featured a wide array of domestic technology such as ANKA, KIZILELMA, HÜRKUŞ, and GÖKBEY.
Reiterating on the growth of the festival, Bayraktar commented that since its inception, the number of visitors has grown exponentially, clocking in at over 1 million applicants for 2023. The enthusiasm of the citizens was celebrated by Bayraktar, and he expressed his appreciation of the young people, who will carry Turkey into the future.
The festival provided the opportunity for the demonstration of a combat drone’s artificial intelligence and was set to bring 40,000 young people to the event, with all costs covered by Baykar.
Bayraktar praised the viewers’ enthusiastic receptiveness towards Baykar performances, particularly KIZILMA and SOLOTÜRK. Bayraktar also expressed his pride in the introduction of the Kaan aircraft.
Finally, the Baykar CEO emphasized the importance of the festival, stating that it not only celebrates the defense industry but facilitates innovation in many areas, particularly in disaster prevention. He further asserted the need to encourage Turkish youth, protect entrepreneurs, and showcase the annual developments in technology.
