Kazakh Cadets Successfully Navigate Atlantic Crossing for Innovative Learning Experience
Kazakhstan Maritime Academy Cadets Cross Atlantic Ocean on Dutch Sailing Vessel
Second-year cadets from the Kazakhstan Maritime Academy (KMA) at the Kazakh-British Technical University recently completed a remarkable journey across the Atlantic Ocean on the Dutch sailing vessel Eendracht, covering nearly 5,910 kilometers. This educational expedition was a collaborative effort between KMA and the STC Group, providing students with a unique opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world maritime navigation conditions.
The route began on Cape Verde Island, located off the west coast of Africa, and concluded on Curaçao Island in the Caribbean Sea. Throughout the journey, cadets were able to immerse themselves in practical experiences that will be invaluable for their future careers in the maritime industry.
The Kazakh Ministry of Science and Higher Education highlighted the significance of this project, stating that it was a crucial stage in the cadets’ preparation, combining theoretical learning with hands-on practice. This experience not only enhanced their understanding of ocean navigation but also set a solid foundation for their future success in the maritime field.
