Kazakhstan Moves up to 52nd Place in World Economic Forum’s Travel and Tourism Development Index 2024
ASTANA – Kazakhstan has shown significant progress in the World Economic Forum’s Travel and Tourism Development Index 2024, ranking 52nd among 119 nations. This is a notable improvement from the country’s previous ranking of 66th among 117 countries in 2021.
The latest ranking highlights Kazakhstan’s strengths in areas such as health and hygiene, price competitiveness, and the socioeconomic impact of tourism and travel. These factors have contributed to the country’s advancement in the global tourism industry.
The United States claimed the top spot in the index, followed by Spain in second place and Japan in third. Kazakhstan’s increasing competitiveness is a testament to the collaborative efforts of central government bodies, local executive bodies, associations, businesses, and universities.
In response to the positive news, Chairman of the Kazakh Tourism national company Kairat Sadvakasov expressed his excitement on social media, stating, “Our long-term goal is to enter the top 50 of this rating. Now we are only two positions away from this goal. This became possible thanks to the coordinated work of all stakeholders. Congratulations to everyone! Let’s continue our efforts to not only reach the top 50, but also aim for the top 30.”
