Kazakhstan Streamlines Border Crossings with China, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan
Kazakhstan to Upgrade Border Checkpoints with Neighboring Countries
Kazakhstan has announced plans to modernize nine border checkpoints with China, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan in the coming year. The goal of this initiative is to increase the throughput capacity of these checkpoints from 170 to 960 vehicles per day and reduce border crossing time to just 30 minutes. This development was reported by the Prime Minister’s press service on January 10.
To streamline the border crossing process, an automated electronic queue system has been implemented at all ten automobile border checkpoints along the external border of the Eurasian Economic Union. This system can be accessed through the Qoldau.kz platform and the CargoRuqsat mobile application. By introducing this technology, Kazakhstan aims to eliminate vehicle congestion on national roads and improve the transparency of the transportation process.
With these upgrades, Kazakhstan hopes to facilitate smoother and more efficient trade and travel between the country and its neighboring nations. The modernization of these border checkpoints is a key step towards enhancing regional connectivity and fostering economic growth in the region.
