Kazakhstani Pyramid Scheme Creator Detained in Bishkek
Bishkek – A citizen of Kazakhstan who was wanted for creating and leading a pyramid scheme has been identified in Bishkek with the help of outdoor video surveillance cameras with facial recognition function. The man was put on the wanted list in one of the CIS countries and has now been apprehended with the assistance of advanced surveillance technology.
The video surveillance system was able to identify the individual who had been sought after for creating and leading a pyramid scheme. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the man had managed to evade capture when the leaders of the pyramid scheme were being detained. The companies involved in the illegal activities had attracted funds from investors amounting to several billion tenge. Additionally, in an effort to increase the flow of incoming funds, well-known bloggers were also involved in the activities of the pyramid schemes.
Ultimately, the court sentenced two individuals involved in the pyramid scheme to five years in prison. The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that the wanted man has been taken into custody and will face legal action for his role in the pyramid scheme.
This is not the first time that advanced surveillance technology has been instrumental in apprehending wanted individuals. Earlier, the ministry had reported the successful detention of a Russian man wanted for serious crimes, who was also identified by cameras with facial recognition function. This demonstrates the effectiveness of technology in assisting law enforcement agencies in tracking down and apprehending individuals involved in criminal activities.
