Kazakhstan President Tokayev Highlights Youth Role in Building a Prosperous Future

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan emphasized the pivotal moment in the country’s history during the Zhana Adamdar (New People) youth forum on Feb. 8. He expressed ambitious goals for the future, stating that Kazakhstan must strive to become the most advanced state and lead by example, not just in learning but also in teaching others. President Tokayev acknowledged the crucial role of youth in turning these aspirations into reality, highlighting the need for their creativity and potential.

The President praised the Zhana Adamdar movement, led by Asel Badenova, for its achievements in mobilizing 15,000 young activists across 19 cities. The organization has successfully initiated various civic projects tackling social issues like vandalism, illegal dumping, underage alcohol sales, and drug trafficking, showcasing a strong commitment to civic consciousness and positive change.

Tokayev commended the youth for their dedication and emphasized the importance of patriotism, strengthening the rule of law, and environmental responsibility through initiatives like the Taza Kazakhstan campaign. He underscored the extensive support provided by Kazakhstan for the development of children and young people, including financial aid for education, housing, and opportunities for higher education or vocational training.

Furthermore, the President highlighted the national programs aimed at supporting children from birth, such as the Keleshek (Future) program and the Bolashak (Future) program, which enable parents to save for their children’s education and offer state-funded grants for higher education or vocational training. He also mentioned the Presidential Youth Cadre Reserve as a valuable initiative to nurture young specialists for future leadership roles in the country.

As part of ongoing political reforms, special quotas have been introduced to encourage youth participation in government, with the goal of rejuvenating representative bodies. President Tokayev expressed confidence in the knowledgeable and patriotic youth, foreseeing their future contribution to government and state institutions.

In closing, President Tokayev emphasized that creating a prosperous Kazakhstan is a collective responsibility and called for the unity and boundless energy of the youth to build a Just Kazakhstan. Through their active engagement and dedication, the youth of Kazakhstan are poised to shape the nation’s future and contribute to its progress and development.
