Khorezm Resident Arrested for Illegal Medicine Sale Worth Nearly 3 Billion UZS

The State Security Service recently made a significant arrest in the city of Urgench, where an individual was found to be storing a large quantity of medicines in his home with the intention of selling them. In a joint operation with other law enforcement agencies, officers discovered 64,452 units of medicines in the man’s possession.

A valuation conducted by a private company determined that the total value of these medicines is a staggering 2 billion 908 million 608 thousand UZS. Further examination by the Pharmaceutical Products Safety Center of the Ministry of Health revealed that some of the medicines did not have the necessary compliance certificates, while others were deemed to be of poor quality and unsuitable for use.

As a result of these findings, a criminal case has been initiated against the individual under Article 186-3, Part 3, Section “a” of the Criminal Code. The investigation is currently ongoing to uncover any further details related to this illegal activity.

It is essential to crack down on such illegal practices to ensure the safety and well-being of the public. The State Security Service and other law enforcement agencies remain vigilant in their efforts to combat the illegal sale of substandard medicines in the country.
