
Kidnapping and Robbery Suspect Arrested in Bishkek

Bishkek, July 12, 2024 – A 24-year-old man has been detained by criminal investigation officers on suspicion of kidnapping, as reported by the press service of the Main Department of Internal Affairs in Bishkek.
According to police reports, the man had contacted the Internal Affairs Department of the Leninsky district on August 7, 2023, seeking help against unknown individuals who had abducted him on August 4 on Asanaliev Street. He was forced into a car, taken out of town, and subjected to physical assault.
A case has been opened under the charge of “Kidnapping” in the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The suspect, a 24-year-old individual with prior convictions for attempted murder, has been identified and apprehended. He has been placed in a temporary detention facility, with investigators also linking him to a robbery.
