A Brutal Knife Attack at Marmaray Station Leads to Arrest and Trial
A horrifying incident took place at Marmaray Station in Kadıköy, Istanbul on March 15, 2024, when a cleaning officer, Çetin Aktay, viciously attacked his coworker, security guard Gülhan Karakerili, with a knife. The attack left Karakerili seriously injured, requiring 40 stitches to her face.
Aktay was promptly arrested following the incident and taken into custody. The case was brought before the Istanbul Anatolian 9th High Criminal Court for the decision hearing, where Aktay participated via SEGBİS from Karabük T Type Prison.
