Kyrgyzstan is set to enhance its agricultural exports to Kazakhstan through the establishment of a "green corridor." This initiative promises not only to facilitate the movement of products but also potentially provides tariff advantages for railway services related to significant goods transit through Kazakhstan.

The announcement follows a meeting between Kazakhstan’s Minister of National Economy, Serik Zhumangarin, and Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Bakyt Torobaev. The discussions centered on fostering bilateral cooperation and developing economic ties between the two countries.

Key agreements reached during the meeting include:

  • Creation of the "Green Corridor": This corridor will specifically ease the export process for Kyrgyz agricultural products heading to Kazakhstan.
  • Joint Oil Supply Initiatives: Collaborative efforts will be undertaken to manage oil supplies more efficiently between the nations.
  • Simplification of Migration Rules: A working group will be established to streamline migration protocols, further enhancing cooperation.

Kyrgyz Agroholding OJSC, alongside the Trade Committee and Kaztrade JSC, will be responsible for identifying the list and quantities of agricultural products designated for export through this new corridor.

This initiative marks a significant step towards strengthening trade relations and promoting economic growth for both Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
