Kyrgyzstan and Belarus Pentathlon Federations Sign Cooperation Pact
Mikhail Prokopenko, two-time world champion and prominent sports figure, recently visited Kyrgyzstan as part of an official visit to strengthen ties between the two countries in the field of modern pentathlon. Prokopenko, who serves as the Chairman of the Presidium of the Federation of Modern Pentathlon as well as the head of the National Teams Department of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism in Belarus, met with officials and athletes in the Kyrgyz Republic to discuss collaboration and development opportunities in the sport.
The Pentathlon Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic highlighted the positive and longstanding relationship between sports organizations in Kyrgyzstan and Belarus, noting that foreign athletes have been regularly visiting the Issyk-Kul region for training camps over the past six years. This partnership has fostered growth and exchange of knowledge in modern pentathlon, benefitting athletes from both nations.
During his visit, an important agreement was signed between the federations of Kyrgyzstan and Belarus on June 20, outlining plans for the further advancement of modern pentathlon in both countries.
