
Kyrgyzstan and Oman to Resume Air Traffic with Direct Flights

Bishkek, 13 February 2025 – The Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Jeenbek Kulubaev, recently met with the CEO of Oman’s Salam Air, Talib Miran Al Raisi, during an official visit to Oman. The focus of their discussions was on the potential for enhancing air traffic between the two countries.
During the meeting, Minister Kulubaev provided a comprehensive overview of the advancements in Kyrgyzstan’s aviation sector, highlighting the ongoing modernization of existing airports and the development of new international airport facilities. He also pointed out the successful track record of charter flights between Kyrgyzstan and Oman operated by Salam Air, suggesting the exploration of introducing regular direct flights between the two nations.
In response, Talib Miran Al Raisi expressed appreciation for the insights shared by Minister Kulubaev and reiterated Salam Air’s interest in reinstating charter flights to Kyrgyzstan as a precursor to establishing permanent direct air routes between the two countries.
As a result of their discussions, both parties have agreed to collaborate on implementing the agreements made during the meeting. This includes working towards establishing the necessary regulatory framework to facilitate the proposed direct air connections between Kyrgyzstan and Oman.
