Kyrgyzstan and South Korea Collaborate on Intelligent Logistics Hub
Deputy Minister Sanzhar Bolotov Discusses Intelligent Logistics Hub Project with South Korean Companies
Deputy Minister Sanzhar Bolotov recently met with representatives of South Korean companies Ecovice and Sunjin at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan to discuss the possibility of creating an intelligent logistics hub in the country. The press service of the ministry reported on the fruitful meeting.
This meeting follows the discussions initiated by the Memorandum of Understanding signed on December 4, 2024, between the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic and the consortium Ecovice Origin and Sunjin Engineering & Architecture. This significant document was signed during President Sadyr Japarov’s official visit to South Korea.
During the meeting, the South Korean partners provided updates on the progress of the master plan development for the intelligent logistics hub project and shared their expertise in enhancing the logistics potential of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Both parties acknowledged the strong bilateral cooperation and expressed their commitment to further collaboration on joint initiatives.
Furthermore, the meeting highlighted Sunjin’s impressive portfolio, which includes over 10,000 completed projects in various sectors, including the design of entire cities. Sunjin has also undertaken projects in Central Asia, such as a hospital in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) with 500 beds and an IT park in Karachi (Pakistan) covering over 76,000 square meters.
Currently, South Korean companies are actively engaged in the construction of temporary storage warehouses in the northern part of Bishkek. Additionally, they are collaborating with Chakan GES OJSC on developing a floating photovoltaic station within the territory of GES-5.
The discussions and initiatives put forth by Deputy Minister Sanzhar Bolotov and the South Korean companies signify a step towards strengthening the economic ties between Kyrgyzstan and South Korea, ultimately fostering growth and development in the region.
