Head of Kyrgyz Pochtasy Office Detained for Embezzlement
On September 20, 2024, in Bishkek, the head of Kyrgyz Pochtasy office was detained in Jalal-Abad region for systematic embezzlement of money. The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported this news, highlighting the efforts made to combat corruption within the organization.
As part of the ongoing work to eliminate corruption, cases of embezzlement and misappropriation of funds by Kyrgyz Pochtasy employees were uncovered. These funds were intended for the payment of pensions, benefits, and wages to residents of remote areas in the country.
It was discovered that the head of Tashtak post office of Kyrgyz Pochtasy, in collaboration with a citizen from Suzak district, embezzled and misappropriated 10,700 million soms that were entrusted to her. The individuals involved have been detained and placed in the temporary detention facility of the SCNS, where an investigation is currently underway.
