Kyrgyzstan to Establish National AI Development Council
Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan – In a move to embrace the increasing role of technology in society, Kyrgyzstan has announced the establishment of a National Council for Artificial Intelligence Development. The decision was made official with the signing of a resolution by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev.
The main focus of the newly formed Council will be on the development and implementation of artificial intelligence technologies in key economic and social sectors. Additionally, the Council will work towards ensuring the safe application of these technologies.
This initiative is part of the broader Digital Transformation Concept for 2024–2028, reflecting Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to keeping pace with technological advancements.
Among the key tasks assigned to the National Council are the development of projects in the field of AI, enhancing the country’s scientific and educational capabilities, and bolstering Kyrgyzstan’s international standing in the AI sphere.
The composition of the Council has already been finalized and includes representatives from government agencies, the scientific community, and businesses. This diverse mix of expertise is expected to drive innovation and progress in the field of artificial intelligence in Kyrgyzstan.
