Kyrgyzstanis Increase Spending on Vacations Abroad
According to data provided by the National Statistical Committee, Kyrgyzstanis have been spending more money on vacations abroad. In the first half of 2024, expenditures of residents of the country abroad amounted to $280.1 million, marking a 6.9 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
During the period from January to June, 26,800 people traveled abroad through travel agencies, with 21,500 of them being citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic and 5,300 being foreign citizens traveling in Kyrgyzstan.
Additionally, the National Statistical Committee reported that income from receiving foreign citizens in the first half of the year totaled $479.7 million, which is 1.8 percent higher than the previous year.
This increase in spending on vacations abroad reflects a growing trend among Kyrgyzstanis to explore international travel opportunities. The tourism industry in Kyrgyzstan continues to thrive, attracting both domestic and foreign travelers.
