Last Minute Operation: 164 DAESH ‘GÜRZ-44’ Coup Members Caught in Cities
164 members of the terrorist organization ISIS were apprehended in a series of operations carried out in 21 provinces across Turkey. Minister Yerlikaya confirmed the success of the “Gurz-44” operations in a recent statement on social media.
The suspects were captured thanks to the efforts of the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Department of TEM in the General Directorate of Security, and the Intelligence Presidency. The operations were conducted in provinces including Adana, Istanbul, Gaziantep, and Malatya, where ISIS was found to have established both operational and financial structures.
During the operations, law enforcement officers seized a significant amount of digital material along with unlicensed firearms. Minister Yerlikaya praised the dedication and bravery of the police officers involved in coordinating the successful operations.
In his statement, Yerlikaya emphasized the importance of social solidarity and shared values in combating terrorism, stating that a unified front is crucial in dismantling terror networks. The Turkish government remains committed to eradicating terrorist threats and ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
