Lebanese PM Mikati Congratulates President Erdogan
Lebanese Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, and his wife Mey Mikati attended the “Presidential Inauguration Ceremony” at the Presidential Complex in Turkey for the re-elected President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Mikati met with President Erdogan and his wife Emine Erdogan and congratulated him on his victory in the elections, wishing the Turkish people good luck. Mikati also thanked Erdogan for his support and for standing by Lebanon.
The ceremony was attended by many high-ranking officials from the Arab world, including Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid al-Dibeybe, Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Faisal bin Ferhan, and Egyptian Foreign Minister Samih Shukri. Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Salim Abdullah al-Jaber al-Sabah, Jordanian Foreign Minister Eymen es-Safedi, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, Tunisian Foreign Minister Nabil Ammar, Qatari Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamed bin Khalifa Al Thani, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) National Assembly Sakr Gabbas, President of the Oman State Assembly Abdulmalik al-Khalili, Speaker of the Algerian National Assembly Salih Kocil, Speaker of the Palestinian National Assembly Ruhi Futuh, and President of the Moroccan Chamber of Representatives Rashid al-Talibi al-Alemi were also present.
This intense participation from the Arab world highlights the strong relations between Lebanon and Turkey, as well as the important role that Turkey plays in the Middle East. The “Presidential Inauguration Ceremony” served as a platform for leaders to congratulate Erdogan on his re-election and to reinforce the ties between their countries.
