Lefke Martyrs Honored in Ceremony by BRTK

The 50th anniversary of the liberation of Lefke was celebrated with great honor and respect in a series of ceremonies. Lefke, which was liberated in the second phase of the 1974 Happy Peace Operation, holds a special place in the hearts of the Turkish Cypriots.

President Ersin Tatar, along with other state and government officials, attended the ceremonies held at Kemal Özalper Martyrdom and Lefke Atatürk Park. Wreaths were laid, flags were raised, and the national anthem was sung to honor the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of Lefke.

In his speech, President Tatar highlighted the significance of the liberation of Lefke 50 years ago and emphasized the historical importance of the Turkish Cypriots’ struggle for independence.
