Lively Carnival Fun at Lake Balaton

Lake Balaton Welcomes Visitors to Carnival Season with Dozens of Events
The Balaton Tourism Association has announced a vibrant lineup of events for visitors to Lake Balaton during the carnival period. From festivals to balls, costume parades, cycling tours, and car shows, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
This year, at least thirty carnival events and winter carnival balls will be taking place around the “Hungarian sea.” Visitors can expect a diverse range of activities, including a car race, a costume bike tour, and more. Tamás Fekete, vice-president of the Balaton Tourism Association, highlighted how these events will have a positive impact on the local economy by boosting winter turnover for restaurants and hotels.
One of the major culinary events to look out for during the carnival season includes the Révfülöpi Rianás and the Keszthely carnival on February 22. Additionally, sports enthusiasts can participate in the Balaton Bike Carnival in Balatonfüred, featuring a parade of costumed cyclists.
For vehicle enthusiasts, the car carnival with “dressed up” vehicles in Balatonlelle promises to be a treat. In Fonyód, the Fonyód Winter Parade on February 22 will bid farewell to winter with Busó fire jugglers, concerts, and a gastro courtyard.
Most of these events are part of the Balaton “1000 Reasons to Visit Lake Balaton” campaign, which aims to attract visitors outside of the peak season. Péter Princzinger, CEO of VisitBalaton365, emphasized that the region offers attractions in every season.
The carnival season at Lake Balaton is off to a festive start, with a wide range of activities that showcase the diverse cultural and recreational opportunities that the region has to offer. So gather your friends and family and head to Lake Balaton to join in the carnival fun!
