The United Nations Office in Vienna Hosts Presentation of Book “Magtymguly – the Sage of Peace”
The United Nations Office at Vienna recently became the stage for a significant event highlighting the enduring value of cultural heritage for humanity. The Embassy and Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan in Vienna presented the book “Magtymguly – the Sage of Peace” by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, shedding light on the wisdom of the great poet and philosopher of the East.
Ambassadors, permanent representatives to the UN, diplomats, representatives of international organizations, and students from Turkmenistan, Austria, and other countries gathered for the event, showcasing the widespread international interest in the works of Makhtumkuli. The presentation emphasized how the book by the President of Turkmenistan contributes to the ongoing study and global recognition of Makhtumkuli’s wisdom, which promotes peace, unity, and mutual respect.
Participants highlighted how the humanistic ideals of Makhtumkuli continue to inspire Turkmenistan’s international initiatives, such as the United Nations General Assembly resolution declaring 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust. This resolution underscores the deep connection between cultural heritage and modern diplomacy.
