Man Reclaims House Two Years After Wall on Door, Unable to Enter Despite Bank Loan
Retired İrfan Aldeniz, 56, recently found himself in a perplexing situation after purchasing a flat in Adana, Turkey. Aldeniz bought one of the four flats on the 7th floor of a 14-storey apartment building in the Tellidere District with his sister in 2022.
Initially, Aldeniz encountered delays as the previous owner needed two months to vacate the premises. However, after about three months, the former landlord finally left the flat following a notification sent through Aldeniz’s lawyer.
Unfortunately, Aldeniz’s troubles were far from over. He got into a heated argument with Abdullah K., who claimed to be the contractor of the apartment and demanded unfair money. Later, when Aldeniz went to his apartment, he discovered that the door had been removed, and a wall had been built in its place. It turned out that his flat had been unlawfully combined with the neighboring one and sold to someone else.
Determined to address this injustice, Aldeniz filed a criminal complaint against Abdullah K., accusing him of preventing him from accessing his property and causing harm. With the help of a court decision, enforcement officers were sent to the building to rectify the situation.
Upon investigation, it was confirmed that the door to Aldeniz’s flat had been removed, a wall had been erected, and the adjacent flat had been renovated to create a joint living space. Workers demolished the unauthorized wall and installed a new door to restore the original boundaries of Aldeniz’s flat.
Expressing his frustration, Aldeniz highlighted the financial and emotional toll this ordeal had taken on him and his sister. Having purchased the flat with a bank loan two years ago, they were unable to move in due to the actions of the contractor and the former owner. The couple resorted to legal intervention to reclaim their property and seek justice for the damages they suffered.
Despite the challenges they faced, Aldeniz remains hopeful that the legal process will bring closure to this distressing chapter and allow him and his sister to finally enjoy the home they rightfully own.
