Manaschi Doolot Sydykov Reunites with Tashiev in Kyrgyzstan
Manaschi Doolot Sydykov Returns to Kyrgyzstan and Meets with Head of SCNS
Renowned manaschi (traditional Kyrgyz storyteller) Doolot Sydykov has returned to Kyrgyzstan and recently met with the head of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS), Kamchybek Tashiev. The meeting was reported by Doolot Sydykov on his Facebook page.
During the meeting, Doolot Sydykov and Kamchybek Tashiev discussed national values, national ideology, and the dissemination of the Manas epic. Doolot Sydykov expressed his happiness in hearing Tashiev’s support for glorifying Manas as a national hero and the face of the nation. Tashiev also announced plans for the construction of a monument to Manas in three regions of Kyrgyzstan where there are currently no monuments dedicated to the legendary figure.
This meeting comes after Doolot Sydykov’s departure from Kyrgyzstan last year, following a dispute over the demolition of part of the fence of the Manas Aiyly ethnic complex. Doolot Sydykov had criticized the country’s presidential administration and Sadyr Japarov’s entourage before leaving the country, citing government pressure as the reason for his departure.
The new building for the administration of the head of state is being constructed on the site of the Issyk-Kul hotel, where the dispute had taken place.
Doolot Sydykov’s return and the positive outcome of his meeting with Kamchybek Tashiev indicate a potential resolution to the previous issues and a renewed focus on preserving and honoring Kyrgyz national heritage.
