Mansur Yavaş Visits Ekrem İmamoğlu
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) President Mansur Yavaş recently paid a visit to detained Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) President Ekrem Imamoglu. Yavaş was accompanied by CHP Malatya Deputy Veli Ağababa and Silivri Marmara Open Penitentiary Institution, along with several other mayors and officials. After spending about 3 hours with Imamoglu, Yavaş made a press statement.
During the visit, Yavaş expressed his belief in Imamoglu’s innocence and emphasized that none of them are considering trying to escape legal proceedings. He mentioned the intense attacks on municipalities belonging to the Republican People’s Party and stressed the importance of equal application of the law.

In response to a question about the arrest of journalists, Yavaş expressed his disapproval of such actions, stating that it is wrong to arrest individuals for carrying out their professional duties.
