During the International Trade Show for Education (ITSE) 2025 in Ashgabat, Abdullah Selim, a representative from Istanbul Medipol University, emphasized the institution’s popularity among Turkmen students. He noted that Medipol remains the top university choice for a considerable number of students from Turkmenistan.
"Our university is proud to be the primary destination for Turkmen students seeking higher education abroad," Mr. Selim stated. "Each year, we welcome approximately 2,500 students from Turkmenistan across our various faculties."
Medipol University boasts a diverse range of educational offerings across its 12 faculties and over 100 departments. According to Mr. Selim, the most sought-after fields of study among Turkmen students are business and economics, with programs taught in both English and Turkish. He assured that the university provides all necessary amenities to ensure the comfort of its Turkmen students.
Addressing the quality of education, Mr. Selim remarked on Medipol’s esteemed global ranking. "Our university is ranked among the top 600 universities worldwide, reflecting the high standard of our teaching, especially in disciplines like healthcare and engineering."
Furthermore, Medipol University incentivizes academic excellence by offering scholarships and tuition discounts. The top three students in each faculty are awarded discounts of 50% and 25%, respectively.
Mr. Selim also highlighted the remarkable accomplishments of Turkmen students within Medipol. "Last year, the highest-achieving student in eight faculties was from Turkmenistan. This student was awarded a 100% scholarship and is currently studying free of charge. Additionally, five other Turkmen students secured second and third places, also receiving significant discounts. Our university genuinely offers outstanding opportunities for personal and academic growth."
