Mehmet Özhaseki reveals 110 thousand-strong worker army in earthquake zones
Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change Mehmet Özhaseki recently met with businessmen in Kayseri to discuss important issues related to environmental protection and sustainability. During the meeting, Minister Özhaseki addressed concerns raised by the opposition regarding earthquake zones and emphasized the government’s ongoing efforts to address these challenges.
Minister Özhaseki highlighted the extensive workforce of 110 thousand workers, including engineers and architects, who are actively involved in earthquake zone projects. He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring construction and infrastructure development in these areas. In response to criticism from the opposition, Minister Özhaseki expressed frustration, stating, “We are working tirelessly to address these issues, yet some choose to spread misinformation and doubt our efforts. But we continue to work diligently and focus on the task at hand.”
Moreover, Minister Özhaseki drew attention to the global issue of climate change and its impact on water resources and agricultural production. He pointed out the alarming increase in temperatures and emphasized the urgent need for action to address carbon emissions and pollution. Minister Özhaseki announced new regulations that will require carbon emission control for all exports starting from 01.01.2026, in line with EU standards.
