
Mehriban Aliyeva, First Vice-President, Shares Independence Day Post

Azerbaijan’s First Vice-President, Mehriban Aliyeva, has taken to her official Instagram page to share a post commemorating the country’s Independence Day on May 28th. In the post, she congratulated her fellow citizens on the occasion and wished them good health and happiness, while hoping for peace, progress, and tranquility in Azerbaijan. She also expressed her aspiration for the country’s independence to be eternal and irreversible.
Azerbaijan gained its independence from the Soviet Union on May 28, 1918, and re-established it on October 18, 1991, after the fall of the Soviet Union. The Independence Day is a national holiday in Azerbaijan, celebrated annually with various festive events and activities.
Mehriban Aliyeva is not only Azerbaijan’s First Vice-President but also a prominent figure in various sectors of society. She is known for her charitable work, and under her leadership, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has implemented many social, cultural, and educational projects in Azerbaijan and across the world.
