Meta Tops List of Foreign Taxpayers in Uzbekistan for 2024
Foreign companies providing electronic services in Uzbekistan contributed significantly to the country’s tax revenue in 2024, with Meta leading the pack by paying 41.7 billion UZS. According to the Tax Committee, these companies collectively paid a total of 115.8 billion UZS in taxes, showing a significant increase compared to the previous year.
The top 10 foreign companies contributing to this tax revenue include Meta, Google, Apple, Amazon, Vooking.sad, Netflix, Zoom, Acca, Xsolla, and TikTok. Meta, formerly known as Facebook, stood out as the largest contributor with a payment of 41.7 billion UZS. Google and Apple followed closely behind, paying 29 billion UZS and 27.3 billion UZS respectively.
It is worth noting that foreign legal entities providing electronic services are required to submit their tax reports and make tax payments by the 20th of the month following the reporting quarter. This transparency and compliance with tax regulations are essential in ensuring a fair and sustainable tax system in Uzbekistan.
