Minister Kacır Provides Update on Nuclear Energy Projects
Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır Discusses Turkey’s Nuclear Energy Plans
Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, recently provided an update on Turkey’s nuclear power plant projects, stating that significant progress is being made. In a speech at the 13th Türkiye Energy Summit, Minister Kacır emphasized the importance of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant and its role in filling an important gap in the country’s energy infrastructure.
“We will commission the first reactor of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant next year,” Minister Kacır announced. He also highlighted ongoing negotiations for other nuclear projects, such as the Sinop and İğneada plants. In addition to these projects, the Minister expressed Turkey’s commitment to exploring innovative applications, including small modular reactors and molten salt reactors.
Minister Kacır reiterated Turkey’s strategic position as a key player in the global energy market, serving as a bridge between energy source countries and consumers. He emphasized the country’s intensive energy diplomacy and its ability to turn risks into advantages in the energy sector.
