Minister Karaismailoğlu Incorrectly Addresses NTV’s Questions in Latest News Update – Turkish News Update

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Adil Karaismailoğlu, recently answered questions from Ahmet Ergen from NTV, revealing exciting updates for Istanbul’s transportation infrastructure.

Karaismailoğlu announced that a Third Tunnel Project is being planned for the Bosphorus, which will increase Istanbul’s rail system network from the current 320 kilometers to 1100 kilometers to make the city more livable. The Great Istanbul Tunnel will be located on the current Metrobus route, beginning at Söğütlüçeşme, passing beneath the First Bosphorus Bridge, arriving at Gayrettepe, with its station already prepared. The 28-kilometer-long route will begin at Uzunçayır, cross the Bosphorus, and arrive at Gayrette, Mecidiyeköy, Çağlayan, Edirnekapı, Zeytinburnu, and Bakırköy. Its station in Bakırköy will be integrated with the Beylikdüzü metrobus line and will have the capacity to serve 1.3 million passengers daily, decreasing the density of the metrobus.

Furthermore, several metro projects in Istanbul are expected to be completed this year. The construction of the Kağıthane – Istanbul Airport metro line has been completed, and the Kağıthane – Gayrettepe connection and Istanbul Airport – Halkalı line will be finished soon, providing a mega project with a length of 34 kilometers.

The Minister’s statements promise improvement in Istanbul’s transportation infrastructure, benefiting millions of citizens.
