Minister Özhaseki announces delivery of 200,000 earthquake houses to owners
Efforts to Revive Earthquake Zone in Kahramanmaraş Continue Uninterruptedly
The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change have been working tirelessly to revive the region after the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023. Minister Özhaseki recently chaired a Disaster Area and Urban Transformation Studies meeting to discuss the progress made in the earthquake zone.
During the meeting, Özhaseki emphasized that their priority is to recover the earthquake zone as soon as possible. He also highlighted the successful delivery of 76 thousand permanent residences to their rightful owners within a year in the cities affected by the earthquake.
“We are on track to deliver 200 thousand residences by the end of the year. Our goal is to complete and deliver all our residences by September 2025,” Özhaseki stated.
The construction of disaster residences and village houses is progressing rapidly, with completed houses being handed over to their owners step by step. Özhaseki stressed the importance of infrastructure works that will help revive the cities affected by the earthquake.
“We are working tirelessly to reunite our citizens with their homes as soon as possible and restore the former vitality to our cities,” Özhaseki added.
