Miraculous Escape in Hakkari: Rock Pieces Crash onto Minibus
Disaster averted in Hakkari: Rock pieces fell on the minibus
A potentially tragic incident was narrowly avoided in Hakkari’s Şemdinli district, as rock pieces fell on a minibus during road works. Luckily, there were no casualties, but the minibus did suffer damage.
The frightening event took place during road expansion works near Yaylapınar village, specifically on the 18th kilometer of the Şemdinli-Derecik highway, around 10:00. Rock pieces unexpectedly fell on the minibus while it was in motion, causing alarm and damage to the vehicle.
The minibus, with plate number 65 LB 961, was carrying 5 passengers, including the driver whose name remains unknown. Fortunately, everyone escaped unharmed, although the minibus itself was not as lucky.
Following the incident, the road had to be closed, leading to a long queue of vehicles as authorities worked to clear the debris. However, once the road was deemed safe, traffic flow resumed, and the highway was reopened to the public.
While the incident may have caused a momentary panic, it serves as a reminder of the unpredictability of nature and the importance of safety measures on construction sites. Thankfully, this situation ended without any loss of life, but it highlights the need for vigilance and caution in similar circumstances.
