Mongolian Judokas Shine at Asian Championship

The Asian Judo Championships have kicked off in Hong Kong with a total of 166 male and 106 female athletes from 36 countries vying for glory. The Mongolian team had a stellar performance on the first day of the competition, raking in several medals.

B.Baasankhuu, competing in the women’s -48 kg weight category, faced off against a South Korean athlete for the gold medal and emerged victorious, clinching the first gold for the Mongolian team. Meanwhile, B.Tsogt-Ochir went head-to-head with an athlete from Kazakhstan for the bronze medal and also secured a win.

The medal streak continued with L.Sosorbaram, competing in the -52 kg weight category, defeating their South Korean opponent and claiming the bronze medal. Additionally, B.Erhembayar and L.Enhriilen both brought home gold medals in the men’s -66 kg and women’s -57 kg categories, respectively.

On the second day of competition, B.Gankhaich faced off against a Japanese athlete in the women’s -63 kg category and ended up with a silver medal. Similarly, B.Nyam-Erdene also secured a silver medal in the women’s -70 kg category.
