Mossad Plot to Assassinate Hamas Leaders in Turkey, Qatar, and Lebanon Uncovered
Israel’s plan to take action against Hamas leaders has sparked controversy, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu openly admitting to ordering the Mossad to target Hamas leaders. In a speech on November 22, Netanyahu made it clear that he has given the green light for the Mossad to carry out operations against Hamas leaders wherever they may be.
At the same meeting, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant went a step further by comparing Hamas leaders to “dead men,” indicating the intent to eliminate them.
However, the plan has faced objections from some quarters, with former Mossad chief Efraim Halevy warning that targeting Hamas leaders may not necessarily eliminate the threat and could even backfire by increasing loyalty to the organization out of a sense of revenge.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Israel has carried out 2,700 assassination operations worldwide since the Second World War. These operations have targeted individuals ranging from former Nazi members to prominent Palestinians.
The revelation of Israel’s plan to pursue Hamas leaders has raised concerns about the potential consequences of such actions and the long-term impact on the conflict between Israel and Hamas. As the debate continues, it remains to be seen how Israel’s strategy will unfold and its implications for the ongoing conflict in the region.
