Mother leaves children with stranger in Tashkent
A mother in Tashkent left her children with a woman she met on social networks and disappeared, according to a report by the Children’s Ombudsman. The incident took place in the Almazar district, where a resident contacted the authorities after citizen K.N., whom she met online, gained her trust, took care of her children, and then vanished.
The children left in the care of the stranger are two years old and two months old. The woman, M.M., looked after the abandoned children for 45 days, with no contact or inquiries from K.N. about their well-being.
Currently, the children are under temporary care at a children’s home for those under 3 years of age. Authorities are conducting a pre-investigation into the incident, with efforts to locate and assess the legal status of K.N.
“Contact has been established with K.N. and the legal assessment of the situation is ongoing,” the statement read. The case highlights the risks associated with leaving children with unfamiliar individuals met online, emphasizing the importance of child safety and proper care arrangements.
