Murat Kurum: İmamoğlu Emerging as a Candidate for Qandil Reconciliation
Murat Kurum, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Candidate for the AK Party, recently attended a meeting with Sivas residents in Istanbul and made some strong statements about his opponent, Ekrem İmamoğlu. According to Kurum, İmamoğlu is the candidate of the Qandil reconciliation and there is a message of a secret alliance between them.
In response to Kurum’s accusations, İmamoğlu stated that he was never invited to any opening by the Ministry of Transport, contradicting Kurum’s claims. İmamoğlu also criticized President Erdogan for allegedly making imaginary invitations to himself and not following protocols for the past 5 years.
Kurum emphasized the importance of focusing on service rather than engaging in unnecessary polemics. He urged İmamoğlu to prioritize opening the metro tunnels and highway tunnels that were previously canceled, in order to enhance the services in Istanbul.
Overall, the political atmosphere in Istanbul seems to be heating up as the mayoral election approaches. Both candidates are making strong statements and accusations against each other, vying for the support of the residents of Istanbul. It remains to be seen how these developments will affect the outcome of the election.
