In a statement, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said the group was apprehended during an operation in the cities of Tashkent and Namangan, with one member being arrested in the former and the remaining nine in the latter. The suspects were found to be in possession of an array of weapons and equipment, including knives, a stun gun, masks, rubber gloves and sports and field uniforms of law enforcement agencies. Many of the group’s members were entrepreneurs and athletes with previous criminal records, according to a police statement.
