National Bank Sells $51.7 Million in Second Intervention of the Week
The National Bank of Kyrgyz Republic Conducts Second Foreign Exchange Intervention
The National Bank of Kyrgyz Republic has conducted its second intervention for the week, selling a total of $51.7 million. This intervention follows another one that took place on December 13, with the previous one occurring on December 9.
According to the bank’s website, $20.5 million was sold with settlements on the same date of the transaction, while $31.2 million was sold with settlements on a different date from the transaction. So far in 2024, the National Bank has entered the foreign exchange market 25 times, with the total volume of interventions amounting to $622.55 million.
In comparison, last year the National Bank sold $655.72 million on the foreign exchange market. This recent intervention is part of the bank’s efforts to stabilize the foreign exchange market and ensure the stability of the Kyrgyz Republic’s economy.
