Netanyahu Blames Hamas for Civilian Deaths in Gaza
Following French President Emmanuel Macron’s statements that “civilians died in the attacks on Gaza and Israel should stop its attacks,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made a written statement from the Prime Ministry’s office.
Netanyahu compared Hamas and DAESH in his statement, attributing “The responsibility for any harm to civilians belongs to Hamas-DAESH, not Israel.”
The Prime Minister claimed that Hamas used civilians as human shields, stating that Israel entered the war because the terrorist organization brutally murdered hundreds of Israelis and took more than 200 Israelis hostage. He emphasized that while Israel did its best not to harm civilians and called on them to leave the battlefields, Hamas tried to prevent civilians from going to safe areas.
Netanyahu accused Hamas-DAESH of committing crimes against humanity by brutally holding women, children, and the elderly hostage, using schools, mosques, and hospitals as terrorist command centers. He warned that the crimes committed by Hamas-DAESH in Gaza today will be committed tomorrow in Paris, New York, and all over the world.
Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron, in an exclusive interview with the British broadcaster BBC, called on Israel to stop its attacks, stating that “Today, civilians were bombed. Babies, women, and old people are being bombed and killed. There is no justification or legitimacy for this. That’s why we call on Israel to stop.”
Macron emphasized the need for adherence to international law and called for a ceasefire, stating, “I am not a judge, I am a head of state. I remind everyone of international law and call for a ceasefire.”
The conflicting statements from both leaders illustrate the ongoing tension and violence in the region, with the international community being called upon to condemn the actions of all parties involved.
