Foreign Tourists in Kazakhstan Receive QR Code Cards for Safe Travel
Foreign tourists visiting Kazakhstan can now expect a new level of safety and convenience during their stay in the country. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced on February 5, 2025, that foreign tourists will receive cards with QR codes, providing access to the multilingual SafeTravel.kz portal.
Upon entering Kazakhstan, each foreigner will receive a special card with a QR code while passing through border control. By scanning the QR code, tourists will be directed to the SafeTravel.kz portal, where they can find essential information such as recommendations for a safe stay, links to mobile applications, and contact details for emergency services. The portal also offers services like a mobile app for contacting the police, guidance on migration laws, city maps, and lists of official taxis.
This initiative aims to enhance security for tourists while also building trust in Kazakhstan as an attractive destination for travel and investment. The distribution of the first cards has already begun at the international airport in Astana, marking a significant step in the development of the country’s tourism infrastructure.
The introduction of QR code cards for foreign tourists demonstrates Kazakhstan’s commitment to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors, further positioning the country as a welcoming and secure destination for travelers.
