New Title: Mega Poultry Farm Unveiled in Chui Region
New Poultry Farm Opens in Issyk-Ata, Kyrgyzstan
On December 13, 2024, the largest poultry farm Ak Kanat was officially opened in the Issyk-Ata district of the Chui region in Kyrgyzstan. This facility is expected to produce a staggering 280,000 eggs per day, significantly contributing to the country’s agricultural output. The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan made the announcement through their press service.
The construction of Ak Kanat poultry farm began back in February 2022. In the first stage of development, four poultry houses were built to house 160,000 laying hens. Subsequently, three more poultry houses were added in the second stage to accommodate an additional 150,000 hens. This expansion is part of an investment project carried out in partnership with the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, with a total investment of $13.2 million. Aiyl Bank also contributed over $750,000 to the project through an equipment leasing program.
The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Bakyt Torobaev, emphasized the significance of the new poultry farm for enhancing the food security of Kyrgyzstan and reducing the country’s reliance on imported eggs. This development is a positive step towards strengthening the agricultural sector in Kyrgyzstan and promoting self-sufficiency in food production.
The opening of Ak Kanat poultry farm marks a significant milestone in Kyrgyzstan’s agricultural industry, signaling the country’s commitment to expanding its domestic food production capabilities and ensuring a stable supply of essential food items for its population.
