New Travel Show on Amazon Prime Explores Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan Shines on Global Stage as "Travel by Dart" Premieres on Amazon Prime

ASTANA – The renowned American travel show, "Travel by Dart," has premiered three episodes highlighting the stunning landscapes and rich culture of Kazakhstan on Amazon Prime, as announced by Kazakh Tourism on April 28.

The show’s unique format involves selecting travel destinations by randomly throwing a dart at a world map. Last year, in an exciting collaboration, the producers reached out to Kazakh Tourism to facilitate filming across various locations in Kazakhstan. The municipalities of Almaty and Astana, alongside the Almaty and Akmola regions, played pivotal roles in supporting the initiative, providing logistical assistance and access to significant tourist attractions.

Kazakh Tourism Chairman Kairat Sadvakassov expressed enthusiasm about the series, emphasizing that Kazakhstan emerged as a delightful discovery for the creative team due to its alluring blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and the warmth of its people. He remarked that collaborating with international media platforms is crucial in promoting Kazakhstan as an appealing travel destination.

“This series on Amazon Prime marks a significant milestone in enhancing Kazakhstan’s image within the American market, especially with the upcoming launch of direct flights between Kazakhstan and the U.S. slated for 2026, in tandem with the existing visa-free regime for U.S. citizens,” he noted.

This expansive project boasts the potential to reach over 400 million viewers worldwide through various television channels, streaming services, and in-flight entertainment systems.

Audiences can enjoy breathtaking sights from Charyn Canyon, the beautiful Kolsai Lakes, Altyn-Emel National Park, the Shchuchinsk-Burabai resort area, the iconic Baiterek monument, the Astana Opera theatre, Central Asia’s largest mosque, and the historical Sauran Market, among other notable locations.

Particular attention is dedicated to the village of Saty in the Almaty Region, recently recognized as one of the world’s best tourist villages by the UN World Tourism Organization in 2023. The show also delves into Kazakhstan’s burgeoning gastronomic tourism, showcasing traditional cuisine and local eateries, along with an episode dedicated to the ancient art of falconry.

Amazon Prime, a key player within the Amazon ecosystem, is one of the largest global streaming platforms, accessible in over 240 countries and offering a comprehensive collection of licensed and original content.

With the debut of "Travel by Dart," Kazakhstan is poised to capture the attention of international travelers, inviting them to explore its diverse landscapes and rich heritage.
