New Uzbek Ambassador Presents Credentials to Polish Foreign Minister

The newly appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Amirsaid Agzamkhodjayev, recently presented copies of his credentials to Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau. This meeting comes after the minister fondly recalled his visit to Tashkent and Samarkand in June 2022 and negotiations with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The discussions highlighted the significant strengthening of Uzbek-Polish cooperation in recent years, especially in the trade and economic sphere. There is growing interest among Polish business circles in developing ties with Uzbek partners.

The head of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed high appreciation for the prospects of cooperation in the textile industry and offered comprehensive assistance in increasing the import of semi-finished and finished light industry products from Uzbekistan to Poland. The close cultural and humanitarian ties between Poland and Uzbekistan were also emphasized during the meeting.

Furthermore, the launch of regular direct flights on the Warsaw-Tashkent-Warsaw route from February 2024 is expected to increase the flow of Polish tourists and further develop mutual trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. Amirsaid Agzamkhodjayev replaced Bakhrom Babayev as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Poland, following Babayev’s tenure as Charge d’Affaires of Uzbekistan in Poland from 2015 and subsequently as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from May 2019.
