
New Year Excitement in New Zealand and Australia: Welcoming 2024

The New Year’s enthusiasm has swept across the globe as countries around the world welcomed 2024 with fireworks, bell ringing, and various traditions. The first place to enter the new year was Kiritimati Island, affiliated with Kiribati, at 13:00 Turkey time, followed by New Zealand and Australia.
New Zealand greeted 2024 with stunning fireworks, with Samoa and Tonga following suit. In Sydney, Australia, nearly 8 tons of fireworks were used for a spectacular celebration as the clock struck midnight. Papua New Guinea welcomed 2024 an hour after Australia.
In Asian countries, celebrations continued with unique traditions. In Seoul, South Korea, a giant bell was rung at midnight to usher in the New Year. A similar scene unfolded in Tokyo, Japan, marking the start of 2024 with diverse cultural practices.
On the South Pacific’s “American Samoa,” the last country to enter 2024, the final New Year’s celebrations are expected, marking the end of a global journey to welcome the new year with hope, joy, and anticipation.
