Next-Generation Mobile Communication Network Launch Training in Ashgabat

Ashgabat Hosts Training on Launch of 5G Networks

The International Telecommunication Union is organizing a two-day training on the launch of next-generation mobile communication networks (IMT-2020/5G) in Ashgabat, starting on November 9. This event is being held as part of the XVI International Exhibition and Scientific Conference on telecommunications, telemetry, information technology, and television and radio equipment “Turkmentel-2023”, which will also open in the Turkmen capital on the same day.

The training aims to bring together all interested parties in one platform, including representatives from the public sector, scientific intelligentsia, and telecom operators. During the event, various topics related to 5G technology will be discussed, including its features and advantages, best practices in commercial launch and development of 5G networks, and Turkmenistan’s efforts to optimize the implementation of 5G technologies and services in the country.

Additionally, separate thematic sessions will focus on the long-term evolution of 5G/IMT-2020 and the transition to 6G. The training will feature speakers such as Karlis Bogens, the head of the Fixed and Mobile Services Division of the ITU Radiocommunication Bureau, Vadim Poskakukhin, the technical director of Ubiquitous Wireless LLP (Kazakhstan), and John David Kim, the head of the Digital Transformation Acceleration Forum and the head of the North-East Asia region at GSMA.

As the event unfolds, participants will have the opportunity to gain valuable insights into the latest developments in 5G technology and its future prospects.
